Was it me or was the Prophet filtering around the school faster than those third years who like to gossip about fuck knows what. It could've just been me, but that was hilarious. Good crossword puzzle on the back page too. I finished it during Charms and I'm pretty sure it was correct.

And yeah, Potter, when's the next practice? Dorcas decided to use her whims to distract me and then hid the schedule as a joke. Bloody woman.

Alas por Yorick; I knew him well
Well fuck. James Potter James, whatever the hell you prefer to be called, I can't make it to practice tonight. Dorcas is -- well she's in one of her moods again and I swear I'm about thirty seconds from ripping my hair out. No matter what I say, she takes it the wrong way and won't stop yelling at me! I didn't do anything -- well, except for her hair accidently getting stuck in my watch last night and pulling it out! But really, it's not like I fucking did it on purpose.

Lily, maybe you can talk some fucking sense into her because Merlin knows she won't listen to a damn thing I say right now! Bloody stupid women and their mood swings.

Four more days until the best time of the school year starts up. Can't wait for it to either. Practices, though as fun and practical as they may be, just don't add up to playing in an actual game or even watching one. We're definitely going to win this year, there's no contest whatsoever. Though, for the game this weekend, all my bets are on Ravenclaw. From what I've heard and seen of the Slytherin team, they'll be lucky if they can even keep formation long enough to score one goal.

Four days and I still have no idea what I'm getting her. It's Valentines Day, right? So you have to get them something or else they'll rip you to pieces and then mail various parts all over the world so that you can never be pieced back together. And yes, I do realise that I'm talking utter bollocks, but I really have no idea what I'm going to get Dorcas and I can never get Lily alone to ask her. She's always flanked by James or Dorcas.

Being back feels really great. Really. If it weren't for the few days I spent with Emmeline and Dorcas during hols, I think I would have gone insane. Mum didn't seem to mind this time around. It seems she's finally getting used to all these attacks and realising that I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself. Nonetheless, I'm not ready for classes to start back up. But I can't wait for it to get warmer again. I'm ready to hop back on my broom and play some quidditch - I feel like I'm a bit rusty, it's been so long.

I thought that this summer was bad with mum overreacting when it came to all the attacks, but now it's even worse. Apparently the news of an attack in Hogsmeade has made her so paranoid that she's going on about not letting me go back to school come January. The woman is off her rocker if she thinks I'll sit here like a good little boy and not go back. Let's not forget the fact that I'm not allowed to go anywhere without everyone else. This is like Azkaban only with a nagging mother in my ear.

Help. Someone get me the hell out of here before I go insane and wind up in the Insanity ward at St. Mungos.

It looks like it might snow today. It'd be nice if it did, but it's still a little early for the first snow. Likely it'll come around Chritmas hols. Speaking of, I got an owl from mum today. She wants me home for Christmas this year instead of staying at Hogwarts like I usually do. It's not exactly my definition of a holiday to stay locked indoors while mum frets about another possible attack. I know she means well, but it's getting to the point where it's getting a bit ridiculous.

Since I have to go home, where should I send everyone's Chritmas presents to? I've only got a handful though, so I guess I could actually give them out before the train leaves.

We won! Ha, hell yes, we won! A couple of us got knocked off our brooms and have nice big welts on our heads, but we fucking won! It was a close game, but we caught the snitch and Slytherin LOST!

I knew I'd still get to use the sheet! Ha! So, as can be deduced, my costume is complete, thanks to the wonderful Emmeline who made it for me. She only poked me with one pin, but it didn't hurt too badly, so all's well and good. I'm ready for this masqueade ball tomorrow night. I wonder if anyone will notice me or if I'll notice them. Dorcas is going with Lily apparently so this'll be tricky if I can't spot her out of all people!

Potter is trying to kill us. We've had practice every single day for the past week. It took me half an hour to get out of bed this morning I was so tired. Then I had to run to class or else I would have ben late. There's been no time to think about Hallowe'en balls and costumes. I think I may just throw a sheet over my head, cut out places for eyes and a nose and go as a muggle ghost. It's simple, yeah? Or I could go as a Quidditch player. I'm already in my uniform more than I am other clothes, so I wouldn't even have to bother changing. That sounds promising.

Don't get me wrong, I love kids and want a few in ten or so years, but having this many to watch after, and the majority of them being from Gryffindor, I'm this close to pulling my hair out. Thank God for Black and Lupin or else I'd probably already be bald. Speaking of, do either of you two know when this will end? Has Dumbledore said anything?

Now that was an explosion, and a hilarious one at that. Remus, the poor bloke, is really unfortunate when it comes to potions. Slughorn partnered us up today and asked us to mix something up (I don't remember what now, but that's not really the important thing here). Anyway, Lupin got stuck with Pettigrew his is about as wretched at as he is. Class was nearly over and everyone was doing fine until kaboom! Pettigrew and Lupin's potion exploded and green gunk went everywhere! It hit only half the class though and Slughorn dismissed them early so that they could clean up, but oh, it was hilarious!

This is ridiculous. Not only has mum placed dad and me under house arrest because she's too paranoid, she's also forbidden me to play Quidditch in the back yard! It's not like I plan to fly off for the day or something. Okay, maybe I had thought of that, but she didn't know that. Would it hurt to get out a bit? Sunshine never hurt anyone the last I heard.

I had every intention of dwelling about how nothing seemed to have gone right the past few days, but that would be pointless. There's already enough drama going on in the real world and my problems seem minuscule in the grand scheme of things. So yes, I'll just smile for the next two and a half days and pretend that everything is peachy fucking keen. Then I'll be home and I can really dwell on it all. At least I have the reassurance that I've done well enough on my examinations to make the parentals proud of me, so, hey, that's something.

All this drama about the Quidditch game this Saturday is quite amusing, especially seeing the blonde girl running about searching for anyone willing to be on her team! Then seeing her and Malfoy argue about the match is a spectacle by itself. Though I must say that I'm surprised that neither Connor or her have asked me to be on their team, but then again, I should count my blessings because who would want to be in the middle of all this rubbish? I'd rather flatter pretty girls Dorcas Meadowes with my witty lines.

I remember this time of year perfectly. Everyone's rushing around with books in their hands and worried expressions on their faces. It's just the OWLs, I've tried telling them, but they don't seem to listen. The examinations weren't all that hard last year and I doubt they will be this year. Of course, I didn't do all that great on mine, but it was average and that's good enough for me.

There's some rumour flying around that Dumbledore has been planning something for us to do at the end of the term. I haven't heard what it is, but apparently he's all excited about it. I heard Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick talking about it, but as soon as they saw I was looking in they cleared their throats and sent me packing.
